When Eli* entered the foster care system at just a few months old, he was experiencing significant developmental delays and needed urgent intervention. His future was uncertain, but with the support of Serenity and a passionate foster parent, Eli’s story took a remarkable turn.
From the beginning, Serenity connected Eli and his foster parent to a network of support, providing trauma-informed training, case management, and linkage to transformative services. His foster parent, a first-time caregiver, was never alone in navigating the complexities of early intervention. With guidance from Serenity staff and referrals to the Regional Center, Eli began receiving the therapies and developmental support he desperately needed.
The results were powerful. In just a few short months, Eli began hitting milestones once thought out of reach. His foster parent, equipped with resources, encouragement, and backing from Serenity, became his strongest advocate. With unwavering commitment, she attended appointments, learned how to support his growth at home, and explored every opportunity to bolster his progress. Through fierce dedication, she ensured he had more than just care, but connection, structure, and love.
Today, that same little boy is not only meeting his milestones, he is thriving! His joyful, determined spirit is due, in no small part, to the stability and love he has found in his foster home. His success reflects not only his own resilience but the power of a deeply supported foster parent and a responsive, integrated system of care.
